Chanté Thurmond is a headhunter at Ellevate, a boutique contingent executive search firm in Chicago. She specializes in placing diverse talent at digital health and emerging tech companies throughout the country.
She has 15 years of professional experience in healthcare, business management and leadership development. She earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Mount Mercy University and a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership & Healthcare.
Prior to recruiting, much of her work centered around cultivating strategic alliances between public and private sector leaders to reduce public health inequities and improve outcomes. Her proudest achievements include: mentoring at-risk youth, empowering teen parents, serving cancer patients and their families and previously serving as President on her community board.
Chanté is also the founder of The Darkest Horse, a digital media project that spotlights on women, minorities and underrepresented leaders in tech. This new project arose from her fierce dedication to diversity, equity and inclusion.
She’s the proud mother of precocious 3-year-old twins who share her love of learning and asking outrageous questions. Chanté credits her other half for keeping her grounded and reminding her to meditate.
